This course examines the interplay between criminal law and civil immigration law. The class will cover the legal and constitutional implications of criminal immigration issues, including the immigration consequences of criminal activities and convictions, the criminal consequences for violations of immigration law, immigration detention, and relief from removal. Criminal Law is a prerequisite. Immigration Law is not a prerequisite, but is recommended (either having taken it previously or taking it concurrently in the fall semester).
