General Description: This seminar is devoted to a close reading of major works of legal or political philosophy. Past seminars have considered Montesquieu, Adam Smith, John Locke, Rousseau, Blackstone, the Federalist Papers and selected Anti-Federalist writings, Tocqueville, Aristotle, and Plato. For Spring 2013, the seminar will focus on politics and education in Locke, Plato, and Rousseau.
