Mason Law maintains a listing of Scholarships from Outside Organizations

A number of outside organizations, including local bar and community associations, law firms, and other groups sponsor scholarship programs for law students. Many of these scholarships are aimed at women, members of diverse groups, or students from particular regions. The table below contains just a few of these scholarship opportunities  for which there is an emphasis on diversity as part of the selection criteria.

New York State Bar Association's Minority Environmental Law Fellowship  Current minority law students who are residents of New York State and interested in pursuing a career in environmental law. Funds to be awarded for summer work with a government office or non-profit doing environmental law work. $6,000 November
Orange County Women Lawyers Association Bar Scholarship  Two awards - bar exam stipends. Applicants must be female and interested in practicing in Orange Country California. $1,000 April/November
Paralyzed Veterans of America  Applicants must be either Paralyzed Veterans members, the spouse of a Paralyzed Veterans member, or an unmarried child under 24 years of age who dependent on the member. Applicant must be able to demonstrate academic achievement. $1,000 June
Patricia Herron Scholarship  Current student who are residents of Contra Costa County, California, and who have completed at least 1 year of law school. Roothbert Fund  Applicant must be a permanent resident of the following states as of March: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Delaware, Maryland, DC, Virginia, West Virginia, or North Carolina. All applicants are eligible.
