The inaugural Law Firm Challenge is underway at George Mason University School of Law. The coming year will mark yet another exciting milestone for Mason as we join elite peer law schools in launching a Law Firm Challenge to help grow our programs, services, and national ranking.

Most would think the Mason Law story is a fairy tale—if it were not true.

Today—Mason ranks among the top law schools in the country in many key categories. Our rank among the top 35 law schools is astonishing given the young age of our institution. From the early days on Rhode Island Avenue as the International School of Law, to our transformation of the Kann’s Department Store site, to our modern home in Hazel Hall on the George Mason Arlington Campus, Mason Law and its alumni have been writing a story of success built on the hard work and dedication of alumni like you and the firms you have founded and in which you work.

Now—as we continue to grow—Mason Law is challenging area law firms and the alumni they employ to help build on our success. The first George Mason Law Firm Challenge is underway! Look for details about our official launch celebration this fall.

Participation is the goal. The law alumni association and the School of Law want to support our school’s mission of excellence through a fundraising campaign that promotes and rewards participation of law firms and the Mason Law alumni they employ.

The Law Firm Challenge will run through the end of 2007.  Events are planned that will encourage participation in the Challenge. All firms that accept the Challenge and achieve 100% participation will be recognized in a full-page advertisement in Virginia Lawyers Weekly. Those firms and the grand prize winners—the firm or firms that give the most money or the most money per lawyer—will be recognized at the conclusion of the Challenge.
