The George Mason University School of Law held its annual Convocation Ceremony on Saturday, May 19, 2007 on the Fairfax campus. A total of 207 students received a Juris Doctor degree, 5 students were awarded the Master of Laws degree and one student received a Juris Master degree.
Dean Dan Polsby presided over the ceremony, and the speakers included Professor Craig S. Lerner who was elected by the graduating students to be their faculty speaker; Samantha E. Mortlock, the elected speaker of the day class; and Paul Andrew Hayden, the speaker elected by the evening class. The guest speaker was The Honorable J. Harvie Wilkinson III, who has served as a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit since 1984. The final speaker was Stephen Gold, President of the George Mason School of Law Alumni Association.
