We are pleased to have JUDGE DENNIS J. SMITH as a distinguished adjunct professor of law.
Judge Smith served as a member and chairperson of various committees of the Fairfax Bar Association, including the Family Law Section. He was on the Board of Governors of the Family Law Section of the Virginia State Bar as an attorney and as a Circuit Court judge. He served as a substitute Judge for the General District and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Courts from 1990 until his appointment to the Circuit Court bench in 1995. He has lectured for many organizations, including the Virginia State Bar, Virginia CLE, the Fairfax and Arlington Bar Associations, the National Business Institute, the Judicial Conference of Virginia, and the Judicial Institute of Virginia. He currently chairs the Education Committee of the Judicial Conference of Virginia.
Judge Smith received his B.A. from Brooklyn College and his J.D. from Washington College of Law. Judge Smith teaches Domestic Relations.
