Biographical Sketch
Director of Legal Research, Writing, and Analysis, Jennifer Hodge joined George Mason University School of Law in July 2007.
Before returning to George Mason in a teaching capacity, Jennifer Hodge worked for the Department of Justice, in the Criminal Division, as a Deputy Chief in the Electronic Surveillance Unit, where she supervised trial attorneys, wrote and edited memoranda for review by Deputy Assistant Attorney Generals, and traveled extensively to train members of law enforcement agencies and Assistant United States Attorneys on issues related to domestic wiretapping. Jennifer Hodge handled commercial and employment law matters as a litigation associate at Charlson Bredehoft & Cohen, P.C. and at Holland & Knight, LLP, and she managed a variety of civil matters serving as a law clerk for the former Chief Judge of the Fairfax County Circuit Court. Jennifer Hodge began her career by practicing criminal law, primarily as an Assistant Public Defender, first in Fauquier County, and then in Fairfax County, Virginia, where she represented clients in all stages of litigation before the General District and Circuit Courts for those jurisdictions, the Virginia Court of Appeals, and the Virginia Supreme Court. Through her years in private practice and public service, Jennifer Hodge gained considerable experience in trial and appellate practices at the state and federal levels.
Jennifer Hodge earned her BA in History and French from the College of William & Mary (1990) and her JD from George Mason University School of Law (1995).
