Biographical Sketch
RONALD D. ROTUNDA IS A UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR AND A PROFESSOR OF LAW. From 1993 to 2002, he was the Albert E. Jenner, Jr. Professor of Law at the University of Illinois. Professor Rotunda teaches Constitutional Law and Legal Ethics.
A magna cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School, Professor Ronald D. Rotunda served as a member of that institution's law review. He later clerked for Judge Walter R. Mansfield of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. In the course of his career, he practiced law in Washington, D.C., and served as assistant majority counsel for the Watergate Committee.
Professor Rotunda is the author of several treatises that are among the most widely cited modern authorities on constitutional law and procedure and professional ethics, having been cited more than 1000 times by state and federal courts at every level, from trial courts to the U.S. Supreme Court. In the year 2000, the University of Chicago Press published a lengthy study examining the influence, productivity, and reputations of law professors over the last several decades. The study ranked Professor Rotunda 17th highest in the nation according to the criteria used.
