How-To: Audio-Visual Equipment

PC (The Main Computer)

  1. Activate the touch screen console, if you haven't done so already. (Touch the screen. If it prompts you for a PIN, enter the PIN. Call 3-8226 if you don't know the PIN. If it doesn't prompt you for a PIN, the system is already activated.)
  2. Make sure the computer is turned on. The blue power indicator light on the front of the computer is lit when computer is on. If computer is off, press the power button on the front of the computer. Note: The screen may be blank until you press the "PC" button on the main console.
  3. Touch the "PC" button on the left side of the console. The screen at the front of the classroom will automatically lower (if it isn't already down).
  4. Slide out the keyboard/mouse drawer. It is immediately below the main countertop.
  5. Optional: Insert your USB drive (or "thumb drive") in one of the USB ports on the main panel next to the touchscreen
  6. Optional: Open drawer and remove the clicker/pointer if you want to navigate through PowerPoint slide shows from anywhere in the room. Refer to the clicker/pointer tutorial for more information.
  7. To adjust the volume, use the volume control buttons to the right of the touchscreen.
  8. Turn things off when you're done.
    • Remove your USB drive (if applicable).
    • Remove the USB receiver of the clicker/pointer and insert it in the back of the clicker/pointer (if applicable).
    • To turn off the whole system at the end of a class, click the "End" button on the touchscreen.

  9. Lock the drawer (if it is unlocked).
