Giles S. Rich Memorial Moot Court Competition, spoonsored by AIPLA
Subject: IP - Every year, AIPLA operates a national, IP-specific moot court competition. Generally, there are two issues involved in the problem. Generally, both issues are patent law-related, although in some years Copyright issues are also presented. This year's problem will be posted in early October.
Every year, GMUSL hosts an intramural competition to determine those teams that will represent GMUSL at the national level. Two teams advance to one of four regional rounds, typically ranging from a total of approximately 16-24 teams each. Last year, GMUSL participated in the Boston regional, and we anticipate that will be the case again this year as well. The top two teams from each regional advance to an 8-team national final competition, held in Washington, DC.
Based on last year's schedule, the tournament will run approximately like this:
Mid-January: Intramural Round
Early February: Briefs served on National Director
Early- to mid-March: Regional Rounds
Early- to mid-April: Final Round
As more information about the Competition becomes available, it will be posted here. Additional information can also be found on the AIPLA website.
