Erich Bloch
Distinguished Visiting Professor

Mr. Bloch, former Director of the National Science Foundation, also served as Corporate Vice President of IBM Corporation and as Distinguished Fellow at the Council on Competitiveness.  He joined the STPP in January 1996 and was responsible for a variety of science and technology policy educational initiatives for specialized constituencies such as corporate technology executives and legislative staff.

Richard E. Bradshaw
Research Fellow

Mr. Bradshaw recently served as a science and technology policy coordinator for President Clinton's reelection campaign.  He has been involved with international science and technology policy issues throughout his career, which includes service at the National Science Foundation, the State Department as a foreign service officer, North Atlantic Research Inc., and the International Monetary Fund.  Mr. Bradshaw also served as a faculty member at George Mason University, where he led the group that developed the design for the MAIT Program.  While at the STPP, he was responsible for the Colloquia on Science, Trade, and Technology.

Dr. Denis F. Cioffi
Research Fellow

Dr. Cioffi, an astrophysicist by training, served a two-year appointment at the STPP.  He spent his first year as a Senior Policy Analyst at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.  The second year was spent in residence at the STPP, where in addition to pursuing his own policy research interests, he helped to develop and teach courses.

Dr. Arthur Diness
Senior Research Fellow

Dr. Diness, former Director of the Office of Naval Research European Office, London, is one of the nation's foremost experts on foreign technology.  At the STPP, Dr. Diness was involved in research and teaching on technology transfer issues with specific emphasis on technology sourcing by industry.

Doo-Young Huhh
Research Scholar

Mr. Huhh was on leave from the Seoul Economic Daily, where he was a journalist covering science and technology policy and telecommunications policy.  At George Mason, he participated in classes in international trade and technology policy and helped to plan U.S.-Korea science and technology policy events.

Dr. Young Gul Kim
Visiting Professor

Dr. Kim was on leave from Pohang University of Science and Technology, Korea, where he was Director of the Research Center for Catalytic Technology.  At George Mason, he participated in the U.S.-Korea cooperative activities and pursued research on technology-related intellectual property rights.  He co-organized the Second Korea-U.S. Science and Technology Policy Seminar with Dr. Ratchford.

Charles T. Owens
Senior Staff

Mr. Owens, former Senior Staff Associate in the National Science Foundation (NSF) Division of International Programs, has extensive experience related to science and technology in Asia and Europe.  At George Mason, he helped to launch a series of colloquia on science, trade, and technology issues.

Dr. Claude Wolff
Visiting Professor

Dr. Wolff, while a professor on leave from the Universite de Haute-Alsace, France, was Guest Scientist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, U.S. Department of Commerce.  In 1994-1995, he was the principal researcher for the Seminar Series on Science and Technology in France and the George Mason megascience report prepared for the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment.
