Professor Zywicki comments on credit card disclosures
Professor Todd Zywicki's comments at a recent invitation-only conference sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia were recently quoted in an American Banker article.
Rethinking Credit Card Disclosure, American Banker, August 22, 2005. By Isabelle Lindenmayer.
"Todd Zywicki, a professor at the George Mason University School of Law, who used to direct policy planning at the Federal Trade Commission, said at the conference that the current disclosure requirements are ineffective and stifle innovation.
'Asymmetric information problems in other consumer markets are often solved by service providers themselves, with brand names and advertising,' he said."
