Trial Advocacy Association Mock Trial Competition - October 22nd-23rd

The Trial Advocacy Association at George Mason is holding its annual Intramural Mock Trial Competition on October 22-23, 2005. Students will compete in two and three person teams to put on a civil wrongful death mock trial. The top two teams at the Intramural will go on to represent GMU in the NTC Regional Competition, where GMU finished in third place last year. Trial Ad needs local attorneys who are willing to act as judges and jury for the trials, scoring students on the strength of their arguments, their objections, and their courtroom demeanor. There will be one presiding judge to rule on objections and two jury member judges for each trial; all judges' scores count equally.

There will be four rounds of trials: 9:00 a.m. on Saturday & Sunday and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday & Sunday. Each trial will last approximately two hours. Breakfast and lunch will be served. Please email Trial Ad's President Joanna Faust at  if you would like to participate and help students become better litigators!

Answers to many questions about the competition can be found on the GMU School of Law Trial Advocacy Association Website.
