Law School Awards 220 Degrees at 2006 Convocation

The George Mason University School of Law held its annual Convocation Ceremony on Saturday, May 20, 2006 on the Fairfax campus. A total of 204 students received a Juris Doctor degree, 6 students received a Juris Master degree, and 10 students were awarded the Master of Laws degree.

Dean Dan Polsby presided over the ceremony, and the speakers included Professor Craig Lerner who was elected by the students to be their faculty speaker; Kim Phan, President of the Student Bar Association; Jill Maguire, the elected speaker of the Day Class; and Richard Fiske, the speaker elected by the Evening Class. The guest speaker was Tom Davis, Congressman for the 11th Congressional District of Virginia which spans most of Fairfax and Prince William Counties. The final speaker was Stephen Gold, President of the George Mason School of Law Alumni Association.
