Mason Law Dean and Professors Join Amici in Second Amendment Case

Dean Daniel Polsby and Professors Lloyd Cohen and Michael Krauss have joined a group of organizations and academics as amici in filing a Brandeis brief in a case, Shelly Parker et al v. District of Columbia, that has the potential to result in a landmark ruling on the individual's right to bear arms under the Second Amendment.

The brief was filed by the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF), the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA), the Madison Society, and a dozen law professors from major universities, including Polsby, Cohen, and Krauss. In their brief, the organizations and partners argue that ample research exists to refute the contention that gun control measures reduce violent crime, gun accidents, or suicides.
