Douglas Wilder to Speak at Law School
The Honorable L. Douglas Wilder, Mayor of Richmond and former Governor of Virginia, will speak at Mason Law this Thursday, January 18, at 5:00 p.m. Mayor Wilder will deliver remarks in conjunction with the announcement of a seminar series named in his honor by the Mason Black Law Students Association. The Honorable Gerald Bruce Lee of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia will be on hand to deliver introductory remarks. A reception will follow.
Mayor Wilder is a native Virginian whose many accomplishments as an attorney and public servant, which include becoming the nation's first elected African-American governor, led to his selection as the namesake for the series.
The first seminar in the L. Douglas Wilder Seminar Series is scheduled to be held this February and will feature Veryl V. Miles, Dean and Professor of Law at The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law.
