Sales Returns to Hill for Testimony on Visa Waiver Program

For the second time this month, Professor Nathan Sales found himself providing testimony on Capitol Hill, this time appearing before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security Subcommittee on Border, Maritime and Global Counterterrorism at a July 16 hearing whose topic was Implementing the 9/11 Act Mandates for Enhancing the Visa Waiver Program.

Sales' testimony addressed steps that Congress and the Administration are taking to secure the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) against terrorists who might attempt to exploit the program in order to gain entrance to the United States, focusing on measures to provide DHS with advance information about travelers arriving in the U.S. from VWP countries and efforts to develop an exit system capable of tracking alien departures.
