Espinel Participates in U.S. Chamber of Commerce IP Summit
Professor Victoria Espinel took part in the Fifth Annual Intellectual Property Summit held by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Global Intellectual Property Center on October 8 in Washington, D.C. The program featured panel discussions centered on promoting new solutions to global challenges and which included influential intellectual property policy makers and leaders from industry, academia, and Capitol Hill.
Professor Espinel moderated a panel entitled "Intellectual Property: Barrier to Progress or Fuel of Innovation?" Panel participants included Carl Horton, Chief IP Counsel, General Electric; Rich Bagger, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Public Affairs and Policy, Pfizer; Marc Boutin, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, National Health Council; and Patricia Sherman, Vice President, Government Affairs, Siemens.
