Richard Murphy Pool Tournament, March 21
Saturday, March 21, is the date for the 10th Richard Murphy Pool Tournament, to be held again this year at Carpool at 4000 Fairfax Drive in Arlington. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m., and the tournament will begin at 1:15 p.m. Plan to play, or be there to cheer on your favorite team of alumni, faculty, staff or students who will compete for top honors and a trophy.
The Murphy Pool Tournament is named for the late Professor Richard Murphy, a popular young professor who served on the faculty from 1994 until his death in 1997. Each year the money raised at this event is contributed to the Richard S. Murphy Scholarship Fund, sponsored by the Alumni Association.
The tournament is open to all School of Law graduates, students, faculty, staff, significant others and spouses, and friends of the law school. In keeping with tradition, the tournament is made up of two-person teams, with a required donation of $30 for alumni, faculty, and staff teams. Alumni should contact Todd Heflin (’01) at email@example.com to register, and payment will be taken at the door. Student teams pay a registration fee of $20 and should contact the SBA for further information.
The Student Bar Association is donating funds to get things started with food and drinks, so don't miss this Mason Law tradition, a popular one that has raised thousands of dollars to benefit the scholarship fund over the years. Help add to that total in a significant way this year by supporting the event.
