Verret Lectures at AG Public Policy Conference

Professor J.W. Verret lectured on the issue of federal preemption of financial services regulation at the Inaugural Attorneys General Education Program (AGEP) Public Policy Conference held April 22–24 at Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago. Attendees included nine state attorneys general and 20 of their deputies.

The conference topics were presented over a two-day period, with the first day's focus being The Financial Meltdown: How Did We Get Here and Where Do We Go from Here? On the second day, Consumer Protection: Feds Versus the States was the topic examined. Verret took part in a presentation on State Consumer Protection Acts and the Boundaries of Preemption.

The conference was organized and presented through the efforts the Attorneys Generals Education Program of the Searle Center on Law, Regulation and Economic Growth at Northwestern University School of Law.
