Byrne Chairs Overseas Events In May

In May 2010, Professor James E. Byrne chaired the Institute of International Banking Law and Practice’s Annual Surveys of Letter of Credit Law and Practice in Vilnius, Lithuania, and in  Dubai. He also chaired the Guarantee & Standby Forums in London and Dubai. Current practice, legal cases, and interpretation of practice rules were discussed at these events, which attracted bankers, lawyers, and businesspeople.

Mason Law graduate Jacob Manning of Dinsmore & Shohl was a panelist at the London Forum, and Professor Byrne met with Mason Law graduate Jeremy Wilson of CMS Cameron McKenna while in London. Six current Mason Law students, Tyler Stubbs, Peter Traisak, Mark Byrnes, Yue Niu, Andrey Kuznetsov, and Ben Nelson, who are entering at the Institute for Summer 2010, assisted in making these events possible.
