Join the Effort to Provide Medical Relief for Haiti
This Friday, January 22, at 6:30 p.m. in room 121 of Hazel Hall, Mason's Law students and the Arlington Campus community will sponsor an urgent fundraiser to benefit the people of Haiti. All proceeds will go directly to Partners in Health, a low-overhead and efficient medical relief organization already on the ground in Haiti providing much-needed medical relief services for those affected by last week's devastating earthquake.
The event will feature special guest speaker Tim Broas, attorney and regional director for Partners in Health (PIH), who will address the gathering at 7:00 p.m. There is no charge for the event, but a small donation of $5 is requested to aid in the relief efforts.
Food for the event has been donated by Sangam and Rockland's, and a number of valuable prizes will be raffled off, including a $1500 BarBri coupon (for a Mason Law student to use for significant savings on bar prep costs), bobbleheads, t-shirts, and signed hockey pucks from the Washington Capitals. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at $5 each Wednesday through Friday of this week in the Hazel Hall Atrium or at the event at a cost of $10 each.
Those who would like to donate raffle prizes are asked to contact Armin Graf.
Your help is urgently needed. All are welcome--please plan to attend, and bring a friend.
The Arlington Campus Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution has posted a website for donations to Haiti relief efforts, as well.
