Profile of the Fall 2010 Entering Class
On August 13, the School of Law welcomed its fall 2010 entering class of JD students, which numbers 303 matriculants this year. Students were selected from an applicant pool consisting of 5,227 applications for fall 2010 admission, of which twenty-six percent received offers of admission to the law school.
The entering
class has a median LSAT of 164 and a median GPA of 3.72 and is drawn from 146 different undergraduate
institutions. Sixty percent of the entering students are male, while
forty percent are female. Virginia residents make up 44 percent of the
class, with the remaining 56 percent coming to Mason Law from outside
the Commonwealth. Within the entering class, 234 first-year students
attend classes as day students and 69 attend as evening students. The
average age of entering students is 24.4 years.
Entering students hold a total of 39 advanced degrees.
