Washington DC/Baltimore Public Service Career Fair January 29, 2010
The eighth annual Washington DC/Baltimore Public Service Career Fair will be held on January 29, 2010, at George Mason University School of Law. The career fair is hosted by American University, Washington College of Law; Catholic University, Columbus School of Law; the Federal Bar Association; George Mason University School of Law; University of Baltimore School of Law; University of the District of Columbia, David A. Clarke School of Law; and University of Maryland School of Law. Federal, state, and local government employers as well as public interest organizations will conduct interviews and meet with students during table talk sessions.
Below is information about: (1) the schedule of events, (2) Table Talk, (3) interviews, (4) student check in at the career fair, (5) obtaining assistance during the career fair, and (6) inclement weather procedures.
Schedule of Events - January 29, 2010
8:30 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.
Employer registration for all day or morning session only participants (Back Atrium)
9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Student check-in (Levy Atrium)
9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:10 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Individual interview sessions in various locations in the law school
10:00 a.m. – 12:00
p.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Table Talk in the Levy Atrium of the law school
12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Employer luncheon sponsored by the Federal Bar Association in the Arlington Original Building (red-brick building)
Student Lunch and discussion of Tortured Law brought to you by Alliance for Justice, in conjunction with Mason Law’s Association for Public Interest Law in Room 120
All students from the sponsoring law schools are invited to participate in Table Talk sessions at the career fair. During those sessions, students can stop by the employers’ tables to drop off resumes and discuss summer or post-graduate employment.
During the career fair, employers will meet individually with students they have pre-selected. Students sign up for interviews prior to the career fair.
Students need to check in prior to participating in the career fair. Students participating in the entire day or the morning session only may check in for the career fair in the front of the atrium on the ground floor of the law school. During check in, students will receive a map of the law school, a list of employers participating in table talk, a list of employer interview rooms, and a name tag.
During the Career Fair
If you forget your interview time or room, lose your name tag, or need any other assistance during the Career Fair, please visit the student registration area or Career, Academic and Alumni Services in Room 370 on the third floor of the law school.
In the event of inclement weather the day of the career fair, students should visit George Mason law school’s web site, www.law.gmu.edu, or call (703) 993-8000 for information concerning delays in starting the career fair or, in extreme weather conditions, its cancellation.
