Rabkin Contributes to Heritage Foundation Discussion

On June 23 Professor Jeremy Rabkin participated in a discussion sponsored by the Heritage Foundation entitled, "Outsourcing Law? International Law and Its Importance in the Kagan Hearing." The program took place in the Lehrman Auditorium of the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C.

In a recent paper, Rabkin argued that the Senate must thoroughly question Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan concerning her views on international law and American foreign policy. He was joined in the discussion by Carrie Severino, chief counsel and policy director at Judicial Crisis Network, as the two considered a rising trend by Supreme Court justices to cite foreign law even when addressing domestic constitutional issues.

The program was moderated by Robert Alt, deputy director at the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at the Heritage Foundation.

The Heritage Foundation has made available online the archived content and discussion from the presentation.
