Rao and Rabkin Join Panel at International Law Weekend

Professor Neomi Rao and Professor Jeremy Rabkin participated in a panel discussion held in New York on Friday, October 22, as part of the International Law Weekend conference of the American Branch of the International Law Association.

The topic of the conference, which was presented by the International Law Association and the International Law Students Association, was "International Law and Institutions: Advancing Justice, Security and Prosperity." The conference was attended by hundreds of legal practitioners, representatives of the governmental and non-governmental sectors, and law students.

Rao and Rabkin appeared on a panel entitled, "Responsibility to Protect: The Relationship Between Human Dignity and State Sovereignty." Joining them on the panel were Frank Chalk, Professor, Concordia University (History), and Director of the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies; Fernando R. Tesón, Tobias Simon Eminent Scholar, Florida State University College of Law, and Co-Chair, ABILA Formation of Rules of Customary International Law Committee; and moderator Julian Ku, Professor of Law, Hofstra University School of Law.
