Sales Appears on Fox-5 Morning News
Professor Nathan Sales was interviewed about terrorism and aviation security on a September 1 segment of Fox-5 Morning News dealing with the Netherlands arrest of two Yemenis after a flight from Chicago to Amsterdam. The presence of a large sum of cash and suspicious items among the suspects' belongings led to the arrest on grounds the men might be involved in a dry run for an airline terror attack.
Sales pointed out that officials were erring on the side of caution in determining whether the mens' actions constituted a dry run or a false alarm. He enumerated various attempts by terrorists in the past to blow up planes and expressed a need for vigilance against these types of activities. Sales also urged the development of technologies to better scan for and identify risks.
