Verret Speaks at Fordham Law School Symposium

Professor J.W. Verret spoke at a February 19 symposium entitled "The Regulation of Investment Funds" held at Fordham Law School in New York City. The event was sponsored by The Fordham Journal of Corporate and Financial Law and featured Verret and four other panelists from throughout the investment management industry.

The symposium's purpose was to analyze current proposals introduced in Congress in 2009 to regulate private investment funds and their advisors and to examine some of the questions raised by those proposals.

Joining Verret on the panel were Andrew J. Donohue, Director, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Division of Investment Management; Paul N. Roth, Partner, Schulte Roth & Zabel, LLP; Matthew B. Siano, General Counsel and Managing Director, Two Sigma Investments, LLC; and M. Holland West, Partner, Shearman & Sterling, LLP. Moderator for the event was James Jalil, Partner, Thompson Hine, LLP, and adjunct professor, Fordham Law School.
