Wooldridge Speaks at Annual Meeting of International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers
Senior Lecturer in Law Robert W. Wooldridge spoke on mediation of family law cases at an annual meeting of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (IAML) in San Juan, Puerto Rico, held February 3–7, 2010.
In addition to speaking, Wooldridge moderated a panel discussion on judicial enforcement of international custody decrees that included counsel from Italy, France, England, and the United States.
The IAML is a world-wide association of practicing lawyers recognized by their peers as experts in family law specialties in their respective countries. The organization's stated goal is the improvement of international family law practice throughout the world. Forty countries are represented, and the Academy has over 540 fellows.
Prior to his retirement from the bench in 2008, Wooldridge spent 16 years as a judge in Virginia's 19th Judicial Circuit while also serving as an adjunct professor at the law school during that time. He teaches Virginia Practice and Evidence, as well as related courses.
