Zengerle Serves as Panelist for Public Service Internship Program

On August 2, Professor Joseph Zengerle was a panelist for the University of Michigan Public Service Internship Program, which was hosted by the Washington, D.C., office of the law firm Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom.

Zengerle was asked to provide comments on service in the public interest, while other panelists commented on  government service (FTC Counsel for Intellectual Property) and private practice (Skadden Counsel for Mergers and Acquisitions).

Zengerle concentrated on his work at the School of Law, particularly the Clinic for Legal Assistance to Servicemembers, and heading the Legal Aid Society of D.C.; he also touched on approximately $2 million worth of time he devoted to pro bono projects while in private practice, and his government service as a Vietnam veteran with the U.S. Army and civilian defense official with the U.S. Air Force.
