Eagle to Participate in Revising Uniform Landlord-Tenant Act
Professor Steven J. Eagle has been appointed by the American Bar Association as Section Advisor to the National Conference of Commissioners of Uniform State Law's committee that will prepare revisions to the Uniform Residential Landlord and Tenant Act (1972).
The Act has been adopted in 21 states and has influenced statutory developments in many others. Since 1972, however, there have been many new statutory and common law developments that affect residential landlord and tenant law, and the Drafting Committee will seek to codify best current practices in a revised act.
Eagle and Judge Peter Buchsbaum of New Jersey, the other ABA representative, will participate in the work of the Drafting Committee under a longstanding arrangement whereby the bar has input into the development of new legislation.
Eagle teaches the first-year course in Property Law and and advanced course in Land Use Planning.
