Malcolm Discusses Second Amendment Issues on the Air
On Monday, March 7, Professor Joyce Lee Malcolm was a guest on Dan Rea's radio talk show "Nightside" on WBZ NewsRadio 1030-AM/CBS Boston, which is broadcast to 38 states.
Speaking on the topic of the right to self-defense and other Second Amendment issues, Malcolm discussed her research indicating that laws limiting handgun ownership do not have the effect of reducing gun violence. She cites evidence that English citizens who are prohibited from carrying handguns and limited in their ability to effect self-defense suffered a doubling of the rate of violent crime in the five years following a governement requirement that guns be turned in.
