Lund Named University Professor

Professor Nelson Lund has been appointed by President Cabrera and the university's Board of Visitors to the rank of University Professor. 

The rank of University Professor is reserved for faculty members of great national or international reputation. The criteria for such appointments include substantial research or scholarship or arts credentials, as appropriate to the discipline.

Lund is widely recognized and frequently cited for his scholarship on the Second Amendment. He has written extensively in the field of constitutional law, including articles on constitutional interpretation, federalism, separation of powers, the Commerce Clause, the Speech or Debate Clause, the Equal Protection Clause, and the Uniformity Clause. In addition, he has published articles in the fields of employment discrimination and civil rights, the legal regulation of medical ethics, and the application of economic analysis to legal institutions and legal ethics.
