Mossoff Contributes to Patent Law Conference
On September 27, Professor Adam Mossoff was a participant in Innovation Alliance Conference 2013, which was entitled "Invention, IP and Jobs: The Economic and Innovations Role of the U.S. Patent System." The event, held at the Newseum in Washington, D.C., featured a discussion with Dean Kamen, founder of DEKA Research and Development, and Dr. Irwin Jacobs, co-founder of Qualcomm. Judy Woodruff, co-anchor and managing editor, PBS NewsHour, served as moderator for the discussion.
Mossoff was part of a panel addressing Hot Topics in Patent Policy: Achieving Balanced Improvements to the Patent System. Moderated by Brian Pomper, Executive Director of the Innovation Alliance, the panel also included Michael Biber, Vice President of Intellectual Property Strategy, Dolby Laboratories; Derrick Brent, Associate General Counsel, Masimo Corporation; Perry Apelbaum, Democratic Staff Director and Chief Counsel, U.S. House Judiciary Committee; and Robert Budens, President, Patent Office Professional Association.
Later in the conference, Mossoff was moderator for A View From the Bench: An Interview with Hon. Kathleen O'Malley, Circuit Judge, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
