Rao Speaks at Two National Legal Conventions
Professor Neomi Rao recently participated in panel discussions at two national legal conferences. On June 20, 2014, she attended the South Asian Bar Association's National Convention in Chicago to serve on a panel that provided an annual review of the 2013-2014 U.S. Supreme Court term. The panelists discussed a number of hot-button issues and key cases before the Supreme Court in what was touted as one of the conference's most popular sessions. On June 21, Rao attended the 2014 National Convention of the American Constitution Society in Washington, D.C., where she served on a panel that discussed the balance between the government’s interest in national security and the public’s interest in privacy and transparency in light of the recent revelations of the National Security Agency’s surveillance programs.
