Student Membership Information

New student members for the Inn are chosen every Spring. Candidates submit their resume, a brief writing sample (usually a paragraph describing why they want to be a member of the Inn), and participate in a brief interview with current student and practitioner members. Once the new members are chosen, a new board is elected and the new Inn is established. For student information contact President Michael Ahl.

Students are encouraged to pursue the Inn as an extracurricular activity. The monthly meetings provide a unique networking opportunity, and the presentations are an opportunity for the students to study an aspect of the law in deeper detail. Students have made valuable connections through the Inn, leading to jobs with law firms and Northern Virginia Judges.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Applications are received in the Spring. Send a 100-word statement telling us why you want to become a member of the Inn, along with your resume. Please redact your GPA from your resume, but include with it a signed statement that your GPA is above a 2.5. Please send this information via email to Michael Ahl.

All applicants will be interviewed by the Executive Board of the Inn, which is comprised of 2 or 3 attorneys and one judge.
