Government Strategy Adviser at NV Energy

“George Mason School of Law is one of a kind,” says 2014 graduate Cynthia Alejandre. “Aside from receiving an outstanding legal education, George Mason created an environment where I was able to thrive not only inside the classroom, but also in the professional world. There is such a great emphasis on work ethic and professional responsibility that made transitioning into the work force effortless. George Mason prepared me well for life after law school.”

Now working in business and policy with Ormat Technologies, Inc., in Nevada, Cynthia attributes her career path to the opportunities she received while studying in DC. As a student, Cynthia secured positions on the Hill, with trade associations, and law firms – some of which she did for credit through Mason’s externship programs. “My aspirations were always to work in a field where regulatory law, policy, and government affairs intersected,” she says. “George Mason’s proximity to the nation’s capital allowed me to explore precisely that, which is what I’ve always dreamed of doing.”
