Alvaré Speaks on Religious Liberty at National Press Club

Professor Helen Alvaré was part of a roundtable discussion of Religious Liberty in 2012: Still the First Freedom? at a National Press Club Series event held on May 21 in Washington, D.C.

Presented by The Catholic University Columbus School of Law and co-sponsored by the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, the discussion centered on the status of religious liberty, its protections, and its challenges in 2012 and beyond.

Joining Alvaré in the discussion were John Garvey, President, The Catholic University of America; Professor Douglas Laycock of the University of Virginia Law School; and Asma Uddin, attorney for the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty. Dr Thomas Farr, Director, Religious Freedom Project, Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs at Georgetown University, served as moderator for the event.
