Zywicki Speaks at Financial Services Symposium

Professor Todd Zywicki was a panelist at a June 7 symposium in New York in which former Federal Reserve Board Chairman Paul A. Volcker Jr. joined current and former government officials, lawyers, and leading legal and business scholars to debate the importance and proper balance of competition and consumer protection law to the financial services industry. The event was sponsored by the American Bar Association Section of Antitrust Law and Columbia University Law School. Volcker delivered keynote remarks.

Zywicki spoke during a panel discussion on the topic of consumer protection in the financial sector and its implications for competition in that industry. Joining Zywicki were Leonard J. Kennedy, general counsel, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and William E. Kovacic, George Washington University Law School and former chairman of the Federal Trade Commission.
