Somin on NPR: Syria Resolution Poses Potential Dangers

During a September 5 segment of NPR Morning Edition, Professor Ilya Somin discussed Congress's current struggle to agree on the scope of proposed military action in Syria, saying that a key question would be what happens if the mission in Syria is not completed within an allowable time limit.

"That, I think, is a more realistic and perhaps more dangerous scenario where the president could clash with Congress but it would be a very substantial risk for him to do so in that way," said Somin.

Even without congressional limits, Somin said he expected the White House to be cautious in extending a campaign in Syria, in part because of limited popular support for the attacks.
