Mason Law Professors Share Article of the Year Award
The winning article, The Goals of Antitrust: Welfare Trumps Choice, was selected by GCR for its “sophisticated rebuttal of ‘consumer choice’ models proposed by Averitt & Lande, based on empirical evidence and an understanding of contemporary economic theory,” according to a press release. The annual award recognizes an article that “captures current thinking, novel theories or unique perspectives” on issues related to antitrust law.
The award was presented at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. Readers of GCR, a leading competition law and policy journal and news service, nominated and voted for the award winners.
Professor Wright currently serves as a Commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission, on leave from the School of Law. Judge Ginsburg joined the law faculty as Professor of Law in July 2013 and also serves as a Senior Circuit Judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia.
