Krauss Op-ed Column in Forbes

In an op-ed column in ForbesProfessor Michael Krauss discusses a "humongous" tort award – almost $1.5 million in compensatory damages and $9 billion in punitive damages – involving a drug used to treat diabetes.

Krauss writes, “[A] bet-the-company verdict has now been rendered, after virtually no deliberation, by a jury [so] fixated upon alleged discovery abuse that it apparently saw no need to decide highly disputed questions of causation . . . .”
