Assistant Professor Rachelle Holmes Perkins is a 2002 graduate of Columbia Law School, where she was a James Kent Scholar and a member of the Columbia Business Law Review. She holds a B.S. in Mathematical Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was awarded the Joseph E. Pogue Scholarship and the IBM Thomas J. Watson scholarship.
Prior to joining the Mason Law faculty, Professor Perkins served as the Transactional Studies Research Fellow at Columbia Law School. She was a tax associate with King & Spalding, LLP, in Washington, DC, from 2004-2006 and with Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett LLP in New York from 2002-2004.
Professor Perkins' teaching and research interests include corporate tax, international tax, tax policy, financial products, and federal income tax.
