Academic Calendar
2009 Fall Semester
- Friday, August 14 - Saturday, August 15 - Orientation
- Thursday, August 20 - Fall semester classes begin. Last day to pay fall tuition without late fee.
- Friday, August 28 - Last day to add fall courses. Last day to drop a course and receive a 100% tuition refund.
- Friday, September 4 - Last day to drop fall courses without academic approval. Last day for 67% tuition refund (33% tuition liability).
- Monday, September 7 - Labor Day - University Closed
- Friday, September 11 - Last day to drop a course (with academic approval) and receive a 33% tuition refund (67% tuition liability). After September 11, there is no tuition refund and 100% tuition liability.
- Friday, October 2 - December graduation applications distributed. Due in Records Office by October 16.
- Monday, October 12 - Fall Recess.
- Tuesday, October 13 - Observe a MONDAY schedule.
- Wednesday, November 25 - Sunday, November 29 - Thanksgiving recess.
- Wednesday, December 2 - Fall semester classes end.
- Thursday, December 3 - Friday, December 4 - Reading days.
- Saturday, December 5 - Monday, December 21- Examinations. (The last scheduled exam is Friday, December 18. December 19 & 21 are reserved for make-up exams due to schedule conflicts and inclement weather.)
- Tuesday, December 22 - Fall graduation. (Note: The 2010 Spring commencement ceremony includes all academic year 2009-10 graduates. There are no separate ceremonies for December and July graduates.)
- December 25 - January 1 - University Closed
2010 Spring Semester
- Wednesday, January 6 - Spring semester classes begin. Last day to pay spring tuition without late fee.
- Thursday, January 14 - Last day to add spring courses. Last day to drop a course and receive a 100% tuition refund
- Monday, January 18 - Martin Luther King Birthday observed - University closed.
- Thursday, January 21 - Last day to drop spring courses without academic approval. Last day for 67% tuition refund (33% tuition liability).
- Thursday, January 28 - Last day to drop a course (with academic approval) and receive a 33% tuition refund (67% tuition liability). After January 28 there is no tuition refund and 100% tuition liability.
- Friday, February 5 - May and July graduation applications distributed. Due in Records Office by February 19.
- Monday, March 8 - Sunday, March 14 - Spring recess
- Wednesday, April 21 -Spring semester classes end. Observe a MONDAY schedule.
- Thursday, April 22 - Friday, April 23 - Reading days.
- Saturday, April 24 - Tuesday, May 11 - Examinations (The last exam is scheduled for May 8. May 10 & 11 are reserved for makeup exams due to schedule conflicts and inclement weather.)
- Saturday, May 15 - School of Law commencement ceremony for December 2009, May 2010 and July 2010 graduates.
2010 Summer Term
- Monday, May 17 - Summer term classes begin. Last day to pay summer tuition without late fee.
- Friday, May 21 - Last day to add or drop summer courses without academic approval. Last day to drop a course and receive a 100% tuition refund. After May 21, there is no tuition refund and 100% tuition liability.
- Monday, May 31 - Memorial Day - University Closed
- Monday, July 5 - Independence Day Holiday Observed - University Closed
- Tuesday, July 6 - Summer term classes end. OBSERVE A MONDAY SCHEDULE.
- Thursday, July 8 -Friday, July 9 - Examinations
- Monday, July 12 - Summer graduation. (Note: The spring 2010 commencement ceremony includes all academic year 2009-10 graduates. There are no separate ceremonies for December and July graduates.)
