2021 Fall Semester

  • Monday, August 9 – Friday, August 20 — New LLM and International Exchange Student Orientation
  • Monday, August 16 – Friday, August 20 — New JD Student Orientation / Legal Methods (Mandatory)
  • Wednesday, August 18 — New JM Orientation (Tentative) (additional dates TBA)
  • Monday, August 23 — Fall semester classes begin. Last day to pay fall tuition without a late fee. Last day to file a Domicile Appeal for the Fall 2021 semester.
  • Monday, September 6 — Labor Day – University Closed
  • Tuesday, September 7 — Last day to add/drop a course without academic approval.
    Last day to drop a course and receive a 100% tuition refund.
    • After September 7 there is a 50% tuition refund.
    • After September 7 students must submit an add/drop form to the Records Office signed by the instructor and the Asst. Dean, Student Academic Affairs, to be added or dropped from a course.
  • Monday, September 13 — Last day to drop a course (academic approval required)/receive a 50% tuition refund.
    • After September 13 there is no tuition refund (100% tuition liability attaches) and there is no ability to drop a course – students must instead seek to withdraw. Students may withdraw only with academic approval and, if permitted to withdraw, will receive a “W” on their transcript.
  • Wednesday, September 29 — December graduation applications distributed.
    Due in Records Office by October 13.
  • Monday, October 11 — Fall Break (classes do not meet)
  • Tuesday, October 12 — Observe a MONDAY schedule
  • Tuesday, November 23 — Fall semester classes end
  • Wednesday, November 24 – Friday, November 26 — Thanksgiving Recess
  • Monday, November 29 – Tuesday, November 30 — Reading Days
  • Wednesday, December 1 – Wednesday, December 15 — Examinations. The last scheduled exam is Monday, December 13. Tuesday and Wednesday, December 14 & 15, are reserved for make-up exams due to schedule conflicts or other schedule changes.
  • Thursday, December 16 — University Winter Graduation Ceremony. (December Law graduates participate in the Winter ceremony and/or the Law School ceremony in May open to all December 2021, May 2022, and July 2022 graduates.)
  • Monday, December 20 — Sunday, January 2– University Closed (Winter Break)

2022 Winter Term*

* Winter Term Credits Included in Spring 2021 Semester

  • Wednesday, January 5 – Friday, January 14 — Winter Term (classes and professional development training).
    • Winter Term will include mandatory LRWA classes for 1L students. Exact days and times are TBA.
    • In the event Winter Term classes must be rescheduled for weather or other reasons, students should plan for weekend make-up sessions (including Saturday and Sunday, January 15 and 16).
  • Wednesday, January 5 — Last day to add a Winter Term class.
  • Thursday, January 6 — Last day to drop a Winter Term class and receive 100% tuition refund. After January 6, there is no tuition refund for Winter Term classes and 100% tuition liability attaches.

2022 Spring Semester

  • Monday, January 17 — Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday observed - University Closed
  • Tuesday, January 18 — Spring semester classes begin (exception is LRWA II which begins during Winter Term). Last day to pay spring tuition without a late fee. Last day to file a Domicile Appeal for the Spring 2022 semester.
  • Friday, January 28 (Tentative Date) — Public Service Job Fair
  • Wednesday, February 2 — Last day to add/drop a course without academic approval.
    Last day to drop a course and receive a 100% tuition refund.
    • After February 2 there is a 50% tuition refund.

  • Saturday, May 14 — Law School graduation ceremony for December 2021, May 2022, and July 2022 graduates.

2022 Summer Semester

  • Monday, May 16 — Summer term classes begin. Last day to pay summer tuition without a late fee. Last day to file a Domicile Appeal for the Summer 2022 semester.
  • Friday, May 20 — Last day to add or drop summer courses without academic approval. Last day to drop a course and receive a 100% tuition refund. After May 20, there is no tuition refund and 100% tuition liability.
  • Monday, May 30 — Memorial Day - University Closed
  • Monday, July 4 — Independence Day - University Closed
  • Tuesday, July 5 — Summer term classes end – Observe a MONDAY schedule
  • Wednesday, July 6 — Reading Day
