Biographical Sketch
Angela Miller currently serves as a Senior Attorney in the United States Sentencing Commission’s Office of Education and Sentencing Practice. Since joining the Commission in 2025, she has trained hundreds of practitioners on the Sentencing Guidelines.
Before joining the Commission, Professor Miller worked for over 20 years in the Department of Justice, which she joined through the Attorney General’s Honors Program. She worked in both the Civil Rights Division’s and the Criminal Division’s Appellate Sections, and in the Civil Rights Division’s Criminal Section, where she advised on hate crime and color of law prosecutions, sentencing issues, and appellate matters.
Professor Miller served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable David B. Sentelle on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Before her legal career, Professor Miller worked as a Behavioral Research Specialist for the United States Secret Service.
