Jennifer Sands Atkins is the Director of the Second Year Legal Research, Writing, and Analysis Program. She graduated with honors from Colorado College and received her masters in Public Policy from Rutgers University. Professor Atkins received her JD summa cum laude from George Mason University where she was a member of the George Mason Law Review, the Moot Court Board, and the George Mason American Inn of Court.
After law school, Professor Atkins clerked for Judge E. Grady Jolly in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Before joining the faculty at the Antonin Scalia Law School, Professor Atkins spent fifteen years as a litigator in private practice, first as an associate and then as a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, and later as a principal at Cloudigy Law PLLC and of counsel at Protorae Law PLLC.
