21st Annual Judicial And Legislative Reception A Success

On May 23, Scalia Law held its 21st Annual Judicial and Legislative Reception. With an emphasis on creating an environment for alumni to gather and network with community leaders, the JLR has become one of the premier legal events in Northern Virginia. Over 300 attorneys, judges, legislators, and alumni from around the region attended the reception.

As part of the celebration, Dean Henry N. Butler awarded the 2018 Dean’s Medals. The Dean’s Medal for Judicial Excellence was awarded to the Honorable Rossie D. Alston, Jr., Judge of the Court of Appeals of Virginia and Adjunct Professor at Scalia Law. The Dean’s Medal for Legislative Excellence was awarded to the Honorable Charniele Herring (BA ’93), Member of the Virginia House of Delegates (46th District). The Dean’s Medal for Alumni Excellence in Pro Bono Legal Services was awarded to Stephen T. Fowler (JD ’99) from Greenberg Traurig LLP.
