SBA Donates 20 Monitors to Law Library
The Student Bar Association has donated 20 new monitors and book stands to the law library for student use. The SBA used a grant intended for the betterment of campus, choosing this project based on the popularity of existing monitors, and recognizing a need for more.
SBA President Sam Turley said, “We are always looking for ways to enhance the student experience. By donating these monitors and book stands, we hope to make studying and research a bit easier for everyone. The SBA is committed to supporting our peers in every way possible, and we’re thrilled to partner with the library on this project.”
About the donation, Dean Knapp said, “The Library is so happy about this generous donation. We began a pilot program in 2023 to place extra monitors around the library. We have consistently heard from students that they appreciate these monitors for lengthy study sessions, including for writing assignments, outlining, and studying for the bar. We had not thought about book stands, but what a terrific addition they will be. We always enjoy working collaboratively with students and student organizations to make the library as comfortable and useful as it can be for our students.”
Students will see the additional monitors in group study rooms and on each floor of the library. The book stands are currently located throughout the library. Students are welcome to use an available monitor or book stand at any time they are in the library.
SBA and the library have worked together to provide cables that work for any student laptop connection. If any student is having difficulty with cables, the monitors, or bookstands, please alert a library staff member or email lawsupport@gmu.edu.
