Alumni Support Students with Career Advice

Scalia Law alumni once again stepped up for the annual JD Student Alumni Connection Program on September 29. Career Services, led by long-time career expert Ilissa Belanger, matched more than 80 second-year students with alumni mentors from across the country. Approximately 30 alumni joined students for a kickoff breakfast to launch the program.
The Alumni Connection Program gives students the opportunity to gain insight into a variety of practice areas, receive career guidance from experienced attorneys, and expand their professional networks. For alumni, the program provides a meaningful way to support the next generation of Scalia Law graduates and remain engaged with the law school community.
“The students are always grateful to speak with alumni,” said Ilissa Belanger, who works on special career and alumni projects for the law school. “Over the years, students have not only received great advice, but job opportunities from their alumni connections. It is heartwarming to see so many alumni from all practice areas respond to our calls for help.”
